…Ehh… no offense, but I don’t really see why this needed to appear at SAGE. Sure, it’s a nice hack of Sonic 1, but it’s really not presentable at this point. It’s just one act of GHZ and LZ each, with a little more level at the end of each act. Not bad, sure, but considering the things you have planned, it’s not really worth showing at this point.
As for the level extensions themselves, they’re not bad, but you need to remove all of the bottomless pits, and remove some of the spikes. Both are overplaced, and it’s quite jarring compared to the original Sonic 1′s levels.
I do like what I see so far, and hope for future releases with more content to enjoy. Keep it up!
Thanks! I decided to show this at SAGE partly because I expected people to try the builds to see what else I am working on. But you’re right, it is a little bit soon for a demo. Also, I’ve thought the same thing about the layouts. I honestly don’t know why I have that horrible spike pit in GHZ act 1.
